The Times They Are A Changin'
In an effort to combat jet-lag upon arriving in Japan I've started to try and live on Japan time. They are 13 hours ahead of my current time so right now it's 2 in the afternoon in Japan. I slept for about 4 hours this morning and spent the bulk of my day downtown at the university which was good since it wore me out. Once I got back I slept until about 9 pm and now am hoping I can make it until about 11 am. I'll probably end up napping around 4 or 5, but I don't think that's too big of an issue. Hopefully this will work as I intend so when I arrive in Osaka at 5 pm I'll be able to get off the plane just like it is 5 pm and go about my day. It's kind of weird right now though to be the only one up and not tired or anything at 1 am.
I've booked my hotels for the two nights before I can move into the residence as well. I'm gonna be staying at the Tokyu Hotel in Osaka for one night alone. Then the next day staying with Aaron (the other guy going to school with me) at the Tokyu Hotel in Kyoto. The rooms look pretty nice and they have some good discounts if you book online. Both hotels are also very convieniently located near major train stations and intersections. My room in Osaka was close to 5000 yen off normal price and the room in Osaka was about 7000 yen off. Not bad at all so if you're travelling to Japan anytime in the future and are looking for a decent hotel you may want to check out the Tokyu hotels.
