Dodged a Bullet!

Today I was in Kobe with Shari taking in a bit of the sights and doing a bit of shopping before thse leaves to go back to Canada tomorrow. We went to yaki-niku for dinner and I knew it was going in it was going to do a number on my stomach. I just can't take that concentration of meat in my meals anymore. My stomach just isn't used to it. Anyway after dinner I was feeling pretty good for about 20 minutes then my stomach started bubbling and I knew what was coming. I hoped that I could hold it off until I had reached home, but this was not the case. Coming back on the Hankyu line, about two stops from the end where we need to change trains the pressure became just too intense. When we reached the last stop I bolted to the bathroom on the opposite end of the station and as I was walking into the stalls I already had my belt undone and the zipper down it was that bad. I'd like to thank my years of martial arts training which helped me to place full concentration on the matter at hand ignoring any other kind of bodily signals. I really think a lesser man might have really had a mess on his hands (or legs) in a similar situation. Anyway, I made it to the toilet (Japanese squat-style) problem free and had done my business when I looked around and notice no toilet paper. Frantic, I discovered six unused 1-ply tissues in the adjacent receptacle. Since this was the only thing in the trash bin I felt little reservation and promptly made good use of them. After all was said and done I checked the other stalls to discover than none had toilet paper and the others had no kind of paper in them at all which could be used. Really dodged a bullet there!

しんど~

It was kind of weird the first night that my brother had left. I was so used to him being around that it was uncomfortably quiet that night. I've gotten used to it pretty quick though and there's not much time to get lonely anyway since Shari is coming on Tuesday for a couple of weeks. My Japanese teacher from U of T is coming to Japan this week as well so Aaron and I are definitely going to meet up with her sometime. I will be really nice to see her again and see how things were like this year at U of T among other things.

The papers from school just keep piling up. Most aren't due for a while but there are a couple this week that are essential. I've written 3 papers in the past 3 days already. There's one more that I absolutely have to get done before Shari comes and another that I'd like to get done before she comes, but if I don't it's not much of a big deal. 17 papers this semester in total. That's pretty crazy even if most of them are only 2 or 3 pages.

The World Cup is on now too and I'm not really that big a fan of soccer normally, but I love the World Cup. We've got a friendly residence World Cup gambling system set up. I didn't win anything on the two games yesterday, but hopefully my luck will turn around today. I predicted England 3 - Paraguay 0, Trinidad 1 - Sweden 1, and Argentina 2 - Ivory Coast 0. And England just scored the first of what I hope is 3 goals.

I also picked up Kagrra tickets today for the July 20th show in Osaka. The last half of July is gonna be a great. School finishes 2 concerts and then climbing Fuji in the beginning of August. Now if only these papers would disappear...
